Case 02 · Quality
Quality records in one place, working in a day
Working in a day
- The problem
- Quality issues, corrective actions and audits were tracked across spreadsheets and email, with controlled documents kept somewhere else again.
- What was built
- One system to log quality problems, track the fixes, plan audits and show compliance. Managers get a live overview. Documents stay in the tools staff already use.
- What changed
- It is used every day. Every quality record is in one place, managers see the current state at a glance, and auditors get a clear trail.
- The problem
- An electronics manufacturer planned production by hand, balancing staff availability, stock, supplier deliveries, machine maintenance and multi-step jobs.
- What was built
- A scheduling system that draws on live business data, works out the best schedule each day and shows the whole floor on one screen.
- What changed
- 95% scheduling reliability and one clear picture of production. Live in about seven and a half weeks, when the traditional estimate was 6 to 12 months.
Case 04 · Manufacturing
Production data entered once, used everywhere
Live in under a week
- The problem
- Setup times, job times and quantities were written down or remembered, then typed in again later, which led to errors.
- What was built
- A simple clock-in and job tracking tool for the shop floor, connected to the scheduling system and the main business system.
- What changed
- Live tracking from day one, with no typing the same information twice.
Case 05 · Finance
Two days of senior staff time back, every reporting period
Ready in hours to days
- The problem
- Customer invoices were not matching the accounts, and finding the gaps took about two days of senior staff time each reporting period.
- What was built
- A small tool that checks every invoice against the accounts automatically, and can be rerun each period.
- What changed
- Invoices now match the accounts with 100% accuracy. The fault in the business system that caused the gaps was found and confirmed, and processes were changed. About two days of senior staff time are freed up each period.
Case 07 · New product
An online breed registry, built from scratch
Launched
- The problem
- Breeders and breed societies needed an affordable online system for their records, members and listings.
- What was built
- A subscription service that many organisations can use at once, each with their own records.
- What changed
- Running as a free-to-start subscription service, with family trees, breeding calculations, a marketplace and membership management.
